Father Bruce, a retired general surgeon (Newton-Wellesley Hospital) came to the Anglican priesthood quite late in life. He graduated from Trinity College and Tufts University School of Medicine and trained for five years at Boston City Hospital. Then following forty years of surgical practice in Needham and Newton, he changed gears and entered Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge PA from which he graduated with an MAM in 2011. He was ordained a Deacon in that year and a priest in 2012. His activities include especially pastoral visiting and acting as an adviser where appropriate in medical situations for the parish. This includes accompanying folks to doctor visits and the like. In addition he is active at both the main church and at the French Hill chapel. Along with his wife Susan he helps greet newcomers and participates in neighborhood prayer walks. Finally, he supports the “McMInistry” where he and often Archdeacon Michael and parishioners visit McDonalds for coffee and interaction with clientele there.
Father Bruce lives in Marlborough. He has three grown daughters and six grandchildren scattered among Medfield, Providence RI and Moorestown NJ.
